Accomplishments for the year and goals for 2008

Well while I have been on a little break you can guess it correctly that Ive gained a few pounds. Im not happy to report it but hey the new year is right around the corner and that is good news for sure because that will get myself back into shape for sure.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and didnt eat too much..haha!

So while the end of the year is coming to an end I just thought I would put my accomplishments for the year...
*lost 40 lbs (ok maybe a little less after Christmas) and maintained that weight off pretty well until Christmas...
*have figured out what works and doesnt and have learned so much about nutrition that all of my family have started asking me what Im doing to lose the weight and even my hubby so its a great feeling
*exercise is not a far out dream anymore but a reality of its happening. I enjoy it instead of dreading it. I can actually walk miles and miles at athletic events and other outings and not feel like Im about to pass out
*I am comfortably in a size 10, wow never thought I would ever see that number again. My other clothes are so big on me that Im going to have to raid my closet and get rid of all my "fat clothes" the only problem is I guess I might have to go shopping for clothes that fit..haha!
*water-I love drinking water even though I still have my sweet tea love as well but Im getting better about it. My hubby always jokes around and says I can chug water faster than anyone he knows..guess thats a good thing..haha!

I feel like I have accomplished so many things this year even though this was a tough, tough year with so many changes but I feel like I did the best with the changes. Job changes, moves * 3 and adjusting to being a first year teacher was tough and I think 2008 will be a fabulous year Ill get down to my goal weight!!

Goals for 2008.....
*exercise more and tone up my flab.......Ive got my elliptical back as well as several fitness DVD's that I actually have space to do both now and I cant wait. We also have a nice park right behind our new house that we can walk to so I cant wait to use that as well. Im also looking to really step up running. Me and hubby started it last year but never made a good dent in it.
*water-need to still work on getting my water but its getting better
*lose 20-25 lbs.....depending on how many I gained during the holidays but I want to get down to 145 by June 2008 as that will be about 1 lb per week so thats definitely doable and then maintain for the rest of the year. We are heading to Hawaii and June 2008 so I want to look the best by then!
*cut down sweet tea....this one still needs a little improvement but as long as we eat in Im good but eat out and its a dangerous thing.
*Eat out less.....this goes hand and hand with the first one but we need to eat in more its much better and now that I have a great kitchen to cook in our new house I think it will get better for sure!

Well I hope everyone had a fabulous Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2008! I doubt I will get back on before then as we are going out of town this weekend and Im still unpacking boxes until then so see you next year!

Less than 20 lbs to go!

Just thought I would come by for a quick post...this week has been great food wise & exercise wise (only walking for now) but we had no internet access all week long so thats why I havent been around lately. There was a major outage and something I still dont know the answer happened with our apartment complex but we are back up and running now thank goodness.

The good news of the week I lost 2.8 lbs bringing me down to 164.2 and less than 20 lbs to go to reach my goal of 145 so I couldnt be happier That puts my WL now at 43.3 lbs LOST and 19.2 lbs to go

Tuesday Food

Well yesterday I had tracked on paper but we had a major outage in our area so cable and internet (the joys of having them together) were down so Ill skip posting yesterday and post today's instead...

Breakfast: fiber one oats & chocolate, lemonade (8oz)
Lunch: vegetable soup (8 oz.), green beans, garlic bread, water
Dinner: burger (90/10 meat, BBQ sauce, relish, 2% pepperjack cheese), baked sour cream & lays chips (10 chips), water
Snack: banana
Water: 33.8 oz.
Exercise: none

Calories: 1221
Fat: 33
Carb: 201
Sodium: 2541
Fiber: 25
WW Pts: 26.4

I was a little over today but not too bad. I try to stay around 25-27 pts so not too bad at all. I had a decent amount of food but still low in fat, nothing I ate was overly fatty or calorie so Im pretty satisfied. Need to get in more fruits and veggies but two + vegetable soup isnt too bad either.

Also, we move into our house in 16 days I cant wait! I get my elliptical back that Ive missed dearly as I just dont have room to use it in an apartment. Also I have several fitness videos as well that Im planning to start using again. Its just not practical to use them here in an apartment as if I did them I would probably be hitting the ceiling and such so I think moving into a new house and having a pretty decent size living room that I can do my fitness videos + a room to put my elliptical so I can use it again. These two reasons are how I gained a lot more muscle and have honestly kind of lost it so Im working on losing but also need to work on toning up as well because I feel my body is kind of flabby..blah + my tummy is the pits..blah.... but I know Ill get it all back and just cant wait....

Day 5...great success!!

Well today has marked my 5th day, yes I really did say 5th day in a row I have tracked and I have great news for my weigh in that resulted in it....

I weighed in this morning and LOST 3 lbs..woo hoo! That still leaves .4 lbs to lose so I get back to my before Thanksgiving self but thats a great loss for one week Ill take it! I know I can get that .4 lbs off + more this week just need to work hard at it! That puts me at 167.0 lbs and need to get back on down.

So food for today...
Breakfast: fiber one, lemonade
Lunch: angel hair pasta (1 oz.), spaghetti sauce with meat (1 cup), water
Dinner: chicken corn dog, rice a roni fried rice, water
Exercise: 50 minute walk

Calories: 1206
Fat: 30
Carb: 182
Sodium: 2886
Fiber: 19
WW Pts: 25.8

So I was pretty much right on track with pts since Im supposed to have 25 pts per day so Im pretty happy with myself. Also, tonight I really had one of those lets just go get something fast and fattening (even after my weigh-in) but after talking with hubby (who has been a great help and support!) finally helped to stay in and eat something much healthier. I could have easily gone and eaten you know something bad but I did it, stuck it out and ate in and ate healthy as well. I love the chicken corn dogs they are wonderful. If you havent tried them I got the Foster Farms brand and I think they are a tad better then the regular ones in my opinion.

So anyway, tomorrow night we are going out and I know Ill use some flex pts but Ive been saving them up for just that but plan on keeping portions small. Ill take the next twodays off from tracking and be back on Monday. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Day 4

Breakfast: Fiber one oats & chocolate bar, simply lemonade (8 oz.)
Lunch: vegetable soup (1 cup), peas (1 oz.), water
Dinner: grilled chicken with A1 marinade (~1.5 oz.), rice a roni fried rice (2.5 oz.), water
Snack: Jello fruit passion cup (peaches, pineapple, & mango in peach gelatin)
Exercise: 45 minute walk

Calories: 962
Fat: 11
Carbs: 152
Fiber: 22
Sodium: 3353
WW Pts: 19.4

Well first off I must give myself a pat on the back and I havent felt that way in a longggg time. Today was the first day in I dont even remember that I felt like Im getting this again its really getting back into the grove and eating healthy and tracking like I once did but forgot how important eating healthy and tracking really was. I know that sounds so dumb but its so very true. If you get out of a habit its so easy but to get back into it is much tougher but I think Im starting to get it back.

For my pts, I think I figured it up with the calculator Im supposed to have 25 pts per day. I put that Im moderately active during the day because sitting down while teaching is just not even an option. I need to bring a tracker one day to see how much I walk I have a large classroom and constantly am asked this or that or will you look at this so Im constantly walking around sone of these days Im really going to bring one

For other things, I got my calories way down (maybe even a little too low but feel great so why eat if Im not hungry?!), fat...wow have I gotten those down from being in the 50's to in the teens or below actually, sodium down, carb down...yeah the only thing that I think needs a little more work is sodium but other than that its the first day Ive been pretty happy with everything I put into my mouth so go me.

Yeah ok today was just a great, great day and I just have to brag (a little or a lot )it hasnt happened in a while so I must make sure to make a note so that I can feel this way more often.

Tomorrow is weigh in day and its one of those weigh-ins I know I will have a loss. Im just hoping to lose at least most of my 3.4 lbs I gained back so anything from 166.6 to 170.0 would be good, preferably the lower range. Anything over 3.4 lbs will be a big hit and would put me even less.

Alright I think Ive rambled on long enough...hope everyone else has had a great day as well!

Day 3

Well today was one of those not totally horrible but not grand either. I was doing alright to that one thing really kind of made it really bad...I happened to mention to hubby that I got an ad that had the Sonic cheesecake bites with caramel dip. Well he took it as I wanted them which ok I wanted them but didnt want the calories and fat. He brought them home and how could I say no he tried to be sweet by bringing them to me and boy they were good but oh so dangerous for sure.

So to say the whole day was a disaster wasnt quite accurate just the last oh hour or so:lol:

Breakfast: Fiber one oats & chocolate bar, simply lemonade (8 oz.)
Lunch: sweet & sour chicken, vegetable egg roll, fried rice, water, sweet and sour sauce
Dinner: spaghetti sauce (1 cup), angel hair pasta (1.5 oz.), 1 breadstick, water
Snack: Sonic cheesecake bites with caramel sauce (all 6 of those dangerous things...dont try them they are dangerous)
Exercise: ?
Water: 50.7 oz.

Calories: 1908
Fat: 53
Carbs: 289
Fiber: 28
Sodium: 3957
WW Pts: 41.8

I must say though two good things out of the day...my fat g were down from yesterday and my fiber was almost doubled so thats a good sign.

Bad ones are my calories were way up, carbs are extremely high, and sodium well thats the highest by far I need to get that one way down.

I know what I need to do to improve and Im getting back into, baby steps and tracking are definitely helping.

Day two

So Im back on track this is the longest in a while Ive tracked my food, kind of sad at two days but so true. I seem to do one day then quit or get too busy doing umm something other than this...

So I weighed myself this morning just to see how I was coming after two days and I was shocked I had already lost 2 of my 3.4 lbs I gained, now how come I cant lose that kind of weight all the time, so not fair

So food for today...
Breakfast: Fiber one oats & chocolate bar, simply lemonade (8 oz.)
Lunch: salad (lettuce, cheese (.25 cup), bacon bits (2 tbsp), honey mustard dressing (3 tbsp) ), water
Dinner: chick-fil-a chargrilled chicken sandwich with 2 packs honey roasted BBQ sauce, fruit cup, water
Snack: 1 brownie, apple cider, fun size snickers bar
Exercise: umm probably none tonight

Calories: 1373
Fat: 56
Carbs: 189
Fiber: 14
WW Pts: 31.3

Not quite as good of a day today but not horrible either. I had a student whos birthday was today that came by with a brownie that someone had made for her and said you must have one to celebrate my birthday, how can you not have one, so how can I really turn that one down. Yeah I caved in I just couldnt say no

Not too shabby for a first day back, just need to stay on track like this everyday!

Oh and I saw this and was wondering if anyone had ever heard of it or used it, looks cool....My Food Phone

Weigh In

Well the holidays for Thanksgiving are now over and boy am I glad. I weighed in this morning with a GAIN (big shocker) of 3.4 lbs. I cant believe I gained that much. Ive been beating myself up all day over it but know I sucked it up this week and did horrible on eating so I only have myself to blame but honestly didnt think I had gained 3.4 lbs. Reasons why I gained...
*fried foods...I ate WAYYY too much of them this week
*sweet tea and very little to no water some days...big, big reason I think
*not nearly enough portion control
*didnt count pts/calories or anything just kind of figured for some meals and others didnt even worry about it.

I know what I have to do to get back on track and must do it. I cant gain anymore. Im now officially back in the 170's at 170.0 thats HORRIBLE!

Thanksgiving..over...

Well we finally got back a few hours ago from our weekend with family and a great football game also.

Thanksgiving First...I kind of disappointed myself but didnt do horrible either. I kept with my one plate but desserts OMG it was terribly good and well fattening to say the least. I got one plate and had one piece of lemon icebox pie and then a little bit of coconut cake that were both devine. The thing I think that killed me the most was drinking so much sweet tea. None of my in laws drink water so its terribly hard. If I didnt want to drink water out of the facet then pretty much it was tea or soft drinks which is a big no no in my book. So I stuck it out and I know I drank way too much but hey its over I could have done worst but stuck to my one plate and ate small portions of it all but there was so many different things my plate was stuffed full but I told myself one plate thats all (well minus dessert). So its over with Ill say Im thankful that I have some much food and a loving family but boy they fix some good stuff for sure..haha!

Tomorrow is my family's Thanksgiving so well see I dont think its quite as difficult there as it is at the in-laws except for the fact they fix like 10 different desserts (no lie, ok maybe 7) and thats probably the most tempting of it all.

So I didnt weigh in today since we were gone and didnt get back until late tonight so Ill weigh in tomorrow morning and see how it looks. Im fully expecting a gain and know that I just need to work hard to get it off no matter how much it maybe.

In other news...the football game we attended today (MSU vs. Ole Miss) and boy was it a game. I still cant believe MSU won..woo hoo!

Monday, November 19, 2007

I cant wait for Thanksgiving, this week has started off wonderfully and the weather is beautiful here. 75 degrees, sunny and just awesome. Tomorrow its supposed to be 80 I believe, sunny and gorgeous day so I cant wait.

For thanksgiving Ive given my mindset and if I just keep telling myself each day then I think Thursday will be much easier. My whole mindset is one meal worth blowing it and is it really going to make me feel better?! I stick with one plate, no more for main food. For dessert one dessert and thats all (well see if I can stick with this)...this is the one thats dangerous and I could see me losing it here but hopefully I can do this or if I take more than one keep portions small.

Food for today..
Breakfast: oat cluster cheerios, 1% milk, 1 packet splenda
Lunch: spaghetti, 2 meatballs, 1 piece garlic bread, unsweet tea with splenda
Dinner: Italian fried chicken (fried in olive oil), ranch dressing, Harvest Cheddar sun chips, 100 calorie wafer bar, water
Exercise: 1 hr walk

Another pound gone!

Well I weighed in this morning and honestly thought I would have a maintain and to my shock I had a 1.0 lb LOSS..wow can we say shocked or what?! So I am now down to 166.3.

Total WL to date: 41.2 lb
Total to go: 21.3 lb

I cant believe Im almost down to 20 lbs to go, wow do you know how close that even sounds and losing over 40 lbs??? Wow Im just in amazement of how far I have come!

This week is going to be tough with Thanksgiving and especially be on Thursday. I will weigh in on Saturday this week as I will be unable to weigh in Friday as we will be out of town/at the game. I know if I can maintain my portions and Im just hoping for a maintain this week if I can do that then it would be fabulous. We will be going to both families (mine and hubby's) so there will be tons of good food and eating I must control myself though.

I do have all of next week off so Ill be around a bit more and try to check in with everyone, its a much needed break!

40.2 lbs GONE!!!

Well I haved now officially hit the 40 lb mark and I am so excited about it! This morning I weighed in and lost .5 lbs so that officially makes me 167.3.

So that means I have lost 40.2 lbs and have 22.3 lbs to go to get to my goal of 145...its well within reach now I still cant believe I really have lost over 40 lbs now. At one point and time I never imagined I would see the 190's again, much less the 160's. Its just amazing to me my accomplishments, Ive had my struggles with it but Ive finally found what works for me and I cant wait to hit my 145 lb mark.

So I will definitely be taking progress pictures this weekend at the MSU vs. Alabama game..go State (MSU)!!

Also in other good news we will be moving (AGAIN) we got a house..woo hoo! We get the keys on December 20 just in time for Christmas..I cant wait! They also have a park right behind our new house that has a great walking/jogging and also a ton of walking around our new neighborhood as well so I cant wait to get back into a house (we have been in an apartment the last 5 mths) and its much nicer than our last house as well so I cant wait! Most of our stuff is actually still boxed up because we moved into a smaller place and didnt have room so we will still have to unpack but it wont be nearly as bad since about 60% of it is already boxed up.

So to say the least Ive had a pretty good week/day with getting a house + getting to my 40 lb mark!

Wednesday, November 7, 2007

Wednesday, Wednesday

Well I feel like I have done fairly well this week but have not gotten here to post it all. I cant wait to get out for the Thanksgiving holidays I get an entire week to catch up/relax and just enjoy family I cant wait. I have this week and next week and the next is a week off..woo hoo!

Todays food
Breakfast: Fiber one oats & chocolate bar, water
Lunch: sweet & sour chicken, egg roll, rice, water
Dinner: still up in the air, hopefully Ill make a decision soon..haha!
Snack: none
Exercise: none
Water: 33.8 oz.

I have found that since Ive been teaching I just dont snack but used to snack all the time I think it really has helped a ton but I just dont have the time to snack which is a plus I think.

Also, this is totally unrelated to weight loss but one of my best friends just had her baby and it was 8 weeks early. Poor little thing so please say a prayer for him he is on 25% oxygen. She was released today but of course couldnt bring him home I couldnt even imagine how tough that must be for her and her hubby and family of course.

Friday, November 2, 2007

Weigh-In

Well I weighed in this morning with a LOSS..woo hoo! Im now officially in the 167's weighing in at 167.8 so thats a .7 lb loss for this week. I feel like I did pretty well this week considering AF was in town and did workouts and tried to keep my portions small whichi is hard sometimes during that time of the month when everything looks good..haha!

That now marks 39.7 lbs lost overall since July 2006 and 22.8 lbs to go until my ultimate goal but my small goal is to reach 159.9 by Christmas so 1.1 lbs per week which is 7.9 lbs in 7 weeks, I can do this!! I just need to get back my full motivation I had at one time.

Hopefully Ill hit the 40 lb mark by next week and I will take progress pictures, cant wait!

Weigh in

Well sorry Ive been such a slacker at getting here its just so tough with everything going on with school and being a teacher, some weeks are good, some are just horrible to do anything other than school.

I do have good news for the week though....I LOST 1.9 lbs..woo hoo! That brings my total to 39 lbs lost and 23.5 lbs to go to get to my goal weight of 145 so not too much longer just need to get back on that losing track for sure hopefully this is a good start in the right direction! That puts me at 168.5 so well into the 160's! My goal is to be at 159.9 by Christmas which is losing 8.6 lbs in 8 weeks so a little over 1 lb per week.

I will post a new picture when I get to 40 lbs, so close!

Dinner: chicken corn dog, peas (onions, seasoning salt), water

I was all settled on eating a salad for lunch and the food usually is just ehh nothing special, nothing great except for one day...well today was it the sweet and sour chicken is amazing I dont know who came up with the recipe but boy is it divine! Other than that (I did eat a small portion at least) I think it was a pretty decent day. I drank well over my goal of 50 oz. of water each day and have made my exercise for the day as well so not a bad start for a week.

Saturday, October 20, 2007

Weigh-In

Well just when I hit the 160's I get right back into the 170's. I ended up gaining 1 lb so Im at 170.4 lbs from yesterday. We ended up switching internet companies so we had no internet access all week other than at work so thank goodness we got it back today so Im back to civilzation..haha! Ive got to get back in the habit of tracking because it hurt me so badly not writing down a single thing all week. On top of not having internet access Ive been totally redesigning the website for our school as well but its finally just about finished other than tweaking a few things thank goodness!

Friday, October 12, 2007

Welcome to the 160's

Yes, yes I cheated and weighed this morning just to see how well I did this weekend and where I start my week out at. Well surprise, surprise wouldnt you know it but I saw 160's, not just the 160's but 169.1 I couldnt believe my eyes thats a 1.7 loss since FRIDAY..wow now how did that happen! Ive been waiting so long to just touch the 160's even it was at 169.9 and Ive finally accomplished it I cant believe it...wow, wow!!

So food for today
Breakfast: oats & chocolate bar, water
Lunch: beef tips with gravy, roll, oatmeal raisin cookie, sweet tea
Dinner: 1/2 PF Changs ginger chicken and brocolli, water
Exercise: 45 minute walk
Water: 50.7 oz.

I usually drink bottled water at lunch and wouldnt you know it they are out so I had the choice of unsweet tea or sweet tea. Most times I can drink unsweet tea if I have splenda + lemon, but without it there is no way. For the beef tips for lunch I didnt care for them very much so I honestly didnt eat much at all.

Friday, October 5, 2007

Weigh in

Well I weighed in this morning with a straight up maintain, not even .1 gain or loss so I must say that Im a bit disappointed I wont be seeing the 160's this week but know that I really havent worked my butt off to get there either. So I maintain at 170.9. Ive been doing a half job of it. Ill drink water, eat good sometimes but splurges were too often. With my mom's birthday that didnt help either as it seemed as though it was either cake, ice cream, or eating out and lots of sodium. So Ill count my blessings that I didnt gain after the crap I ate for some times and say I need to do better.

Not sure what my deal is Ive just been in this funk where I just have no motivation, what is it I need to snap out of it. I dont know if its just so much going on with school (preparing for the 9 weeks exams) or what but Ill be sooo glad when next Thursday is over with and I get a 4 day weekend next week..woo hoo, cant wait!

Wednesday, October 3, 2007

Week half over!

Well last night I never got back to posting around here since we went out for my mom's birthday and we went out for Mexican which is like serious danger zone. But my food ended up coming out wrong I wasnt too impressed with the way the others looked so I just passed and ate chips and salsa...it could have been worst, right?

So the new love is blackberry cobbler ice cream that my dad got, its from Blue Bell, if you see it and like blackberry's and cobblers run as far away from it as you can, that stuff is so addicting and so unbelievably good it should be a sin..haha!

So food for today....
Breakfast: Garden Harvest Apple Cinnamon Toasted Chips, water
Lunch: beef burrito, salad (lettuce, cheese, bacon bits, onions, croutons, honey mustard), water
Dinner: boneless wings, carrot cake, blackberry cobbler ice cream, tea with splenda
Water: 50.7 oz.
Exercise: nada

So tonight we are going back over to my parents for cake and ice cream since we didnt get to that last night and my mom is ordering boneless wings (danger, danger) and of course we will be having some of that devine ice cream. My mom asked me the other day if I wanted some I told her no way I would eat it all...haha!

Oh and my new found love for snack/breakfast, etc. is Garden Harvest Apple Cinnamon chips they are delicious and pretty low in fat. For 16 chips its 2.1 pts so not bad at all! They also have other flavors in Tomato Basil (very good as well), banana, vegetable medley (havent tried the last two) so if you havent gotten any they are a good add to your list!

Well Im off to eat the cake and ice cream, my story is keep it small in portions. Ahh that loss is not looking so good this week but well see.

Weekend

First off I just want to say a big thanks to everyone who has stopped by and really have stayed with me even after bad times. Hopefully sometime by the end of this week Ill get to stop by to see how everyone is doing but Ive been working on finishing up a 9 weeks test for 5 classes Im teaching so its been taking some time. Im hoping I get them finished up tomorrow night!

Well so far, so good this weekend.

The weekend is usually the time when I throw up my hands and say you know what Im free to eat what I want I can splurge and be ok as long as I get back on track by Monday...anyone else ever done this??

Well this weekend was a bit different and Im proud to say so. Normally after I see a gain I can say that weekend splurge is much easier then a week of a gain.

So this weekend we cooked in on Saturday night when normally we go out to eat 500 trillion too many calories and it was a much lower calorie meal in meatballs which I found a rachel ray recipe and found ways to make it lower fat and went easy on my portion of spaghetti. Then instead of my usual sweet tea mania drinking on the weekend it was water...all water Im proud to say. As much exercise as Ive done Ive drank a TON of water. The only problem in drinking so much water is I feel like the toilet needs to permanately be attached..haha!

For lunch on Sundays we normally go out to eat after church we did but I started out with a salad with healthy stuff instead of all the junk (bacon, cheese....you know all the calories that make a salad not really healthy?!) and then ate some fruit, grilled chicken and splurged with a tiny portion of mashed potatoes on the buffet. Normally the buffet line is where you get wayy to many calories and Im proud to say I think I did the best I have ever done.

Then on top of that it was my grandfathers birthday and they had cake, ice cream and sherbert. Well I got a tiny piece of cake and by tiny I mean a few bites. Then I could have splurged with ice cream but instead I got fat free sherbert, 3 scoops of it. So Im pretty proud.

So not like that is enough....my exercise this weekend has been great and between Saturday and today Ive spent a total of 2.5 hrs exercising as its been so nice outside and we (me and hubby) have spent a ton of time walking/running this weekend.

So to say this is just what I needed after a gain is an understatement. I normally dont brag because Im just not like that at all but this weekend I feel pretty proud of myself for having such a down week with being sick/af being in town. So this is the perfect start to a good week and Im hoping I see the 160's by Friday as well. Im going to work my butt off to get there!

Weight Gain....

Well after having a heckuva a week in the sickness department I then got AF, what a wonderful combination right? So when I say I had a gain I was well almost expecting it. I gained less than a pound so Ill count my additions and move on for next week. I gained .8 lbs so Im at 170.9 now.

For the good part I am feeling much better today I guess all the medicine and teas and good stuff have made me feel better so thats the good news just in time for the weekend! Im not 100% better but a lot better and feel more human now then I did Monday.

The world of sickness

Well I havent been around because Ive been dealing with the junk. Im not sure exactly what I have (Im thinking sinus, cold, etc) and have felt like crawling up in a bed and doing nothing. Who really wants to do anything while sick?? So Ive been taking medicines, drinking hot tea and trying to make myself feel better but Ill be pretty honest I still feel pretty rough.

My food well its been food to make me feel like a normal person I dont think its been too bad but my exercise has been well almost nada this week. I think Sunday or Monday I got in 30 minutes but other than that its been all of it.

Ill be back to normal soon I hope but just thought I would let you know I havent fallen off the wagon just have the ole junk that makes you feel horrible.

Disappointed...

Well I weighed in this morning and had a loss of .3 lbs...at least its a loss right? Well Im now .2 lbs away from the 160's at 170.1, could this be taking any longer to get there?? I thought I did pretty well this week and still couldnt get there. I even really upped the exercise and still couldnt accomplish it.

So now that Im in the Christmas challenge my goals are:
* Lose 10.2 lbs (get my into the 150's at 159.9 lbs.)
*Drink more water (at least 50 oz.)
*Exercise at least 4X a week (at least 30 minutes each day)

These are my goals and Im putting them all here so that I can stay accountable!

Is it the weekend yet?

Well Im so ready for tomorrow to be over with and it wont be over with until a bit later. Tomorrow at our school I get to work the homecoming dance as well as the football game as well so it will be a long day but at least we get off at 11 am..yeah!

Food for today...
Breakfast: oats and chocolate, simply lemonade
Lunch: sweet and sour chicken, egg roll, fried rice with soy sauce, water
Dinner: burger (90/10 meat) with pepperjack cheese, bun, BBQ sauce, baked cheddar and sour cream chips (10-14 chips), water
Snack: nada
Water: 67.6 oz.
Exercise: 1 hr. 15 min walk/2-3 minute run

For my first weeks of running Ill probably start out with 2 or 3 nights and work myself into a routine of it as I know its tough and Ive got to start out with baby steps and I know I can do it.

For weigh in tomorrow, Im not feeling too good about it because I weighed myself and was up 2 lbs Wednesday..whats up with that?? Im not sure whats going on but IM not liking it one bit but maybe Ill be in for a shock...

Ive started getting the Women's Health newsletter by email and it has some wonderful things in it, one I would like to share that I thought had some really interesting things...
50 tricks to stay fuller longer
http://www.womenshealthmag.com/article/0,6176,s1-11-67-1882-1,00.html?cm_mmc=Newsletter-_-2007_Sept_19-_-Fitness-_-150.Tricks.To.Stay.Full.Longer

If I dont get back tomorrow for weigh in it doesnt necessarily mean bad I just have a zillion and one things going on tomorrow with homecoming for school so its going to be a crazy, crazy day but maybe I can swing a few minutes....

Wednesday

Wow its just been one of those weeks Im ready to see go. It has been homecoming week at our school and I think the kids have had an extra 10 doses of sugar which has made it insanely crazy for me but Im surviving. We get off at 11 am on Friday so the week is coming to an end!

Todays Food
Breakfast: oats and chocolate bar, water
Lunch: chicken fingers (baked), peas, mac n cheese (bad, bad), water
Dinner: 2 pieces of spinach and asiago cheese chicken sausage, salad (lettuce, wheat croutons, 5 wheat thins crunched up, purple onion, bacon bits, lite honey mustard), lemonade
Water: 33.8 oz.
Exercise: nada

My mom had cooked the spinach and asiago cheese chicken sausage and I had to go out and buy some it was divine! The only place I found it is Sams. Its very low in fat and calories and is delicious!

Thanks for the comment on the new picture. This is a more recent picture that was taken at school in front of my classroom. Hope you girls are having a good day!

Monday, Monday

So if anyone scrolls to the bottom of the page you will see this quote for the day which is sooo true and just thought I would post it up here as a reminder to anyone and to me as well....

When things go wrong, dont go with them
-Elvis Presley

Food for today
Breakfast: oats & chocolate bar, lemonade
Lunch: hamburger steak, mashed potatoes w/gravy, corn, oatmeal raisin cookie, water
Dinner: 1 1/2 slices of pepperoni pizza, salad (lettuce, wheat croutons, bacon bits, purple onion, lite caesar dressing)
Snack: 100 calorie carrot cake with cream cheese frosting
Exercise: walk/run 2 miles (5 minutes run)

Me and hubby have started taking up running which is taking some time of course but we will get there. Im not sure exactly how far we ran Im just kind of guessing. Last night was our first night of running and we have this track and they have little trees and its a little further. So each night we add one more tree to our list until we get up one full run around the track which is .4 miles around it one time which we arent quite to half way point but we are working our way up there. Its so inspirational to me to be able to run. Last night when we ran I dont think either one of us thought we were going to make it as far as we did and all the sudden we looked back and ran a good bit and we kept cheering each other come on dont stop you can do it. We have been walking quite a bit but running is so different.

My cousin who was in the military and is a big time runner/athlete has given me several tips and if anyone wants them please let me know and Ill be happy to post them here or email them to you, your choice but several very good tips she has given us. The biggest one I dont think I even did was run on my toes, she stated you have to hit your heels first, not your toes or even mid foot.

So here is our journey to working up to running. Its something I have always wanted to do and Im doing it this time there is no turning back now so stay tuned to see how long it will take me to get to one mile!

Weigh in

Well I weighed in Friday morning and had a loss...a very small loss but hey a loss is a loss, right? I lost .2 lbs which officially takes me to my lowest all time in years and years at 170.4 lbs so only .5 lbs away from that 160 marker I can do it this week I just need to stay committed.

I also changed my ticker and I am officially over the 37 lb mark of losing weight at 37.1 lbs and 25.4 lbs until my goal of 145..wow I dont think I really realized until I just looked up that Im way over half way I can do this!

I need to exercise way more, drink more water and really look at what Im eating more than anything.

Wednesday

Wow three days in a row Ive made it back here I cant believe it. I know I havent been perfect but its a work in progress and Im getting there slowly.

I never made it back to update my food so Ill go ahead and say we ended up going to Logans and I got a grilled chicken sandwich with BBQ sauce and a cup of chili and I only ate 1 roll and avoided sweet tea so not too bad, could have done much worst to say the least. Oh and ended up with a 45 minute walk for last night as well.

Breakfast: oats & chocolate bar, water
Lunch: chili dog, onion rings (4 or 5), oatmeal raisin cookie, lemonade
Dinner: California Pizza Kitchen BBQ chicken (2 slices), water
Water: 50.7 oz
Exercise: 45 minute walk

For my tips for the day...I ended up signing up for the Women's Health newsletter which I love the magazine it truly is wonderful if you havent picked it up it truly is worth the investment. They have some great stories and very inspirational stuff. My favorite magazine by far. Anyway I got these 40 tips and thought I would share...very interesting...

For my breakthrough of the day Ive been working to try to guzzle down at least 40 oz. a day (hey its a start back) and I got over 40 oz. so Ill work my weigh back up but its a start!

Tuesday, September 11, 2007

Tuesday

Well today I kind of felt like I had a setback almost, not 100% bad but just one of those days where you arent totally 100% on your game, so in due order my food for the day...

Breakfast: fiber one oats & chocolate, water
Lunch: sloppy joe, corn, baked fries, BBQ sauce, lemonade, oatmeal raisin cookie
Dinner: still up for debates..will fill this one in after dinner...
Water: 16.9 oz.
Exercise:

Im not sure whats up with me but Ive been in this lemonade mood which is actually a half good thing. I have had a few kidney stones (3 to be exact) and have been told to drink lots of lemonade and water. Not sure if anyone else has heard this or not but if you do have kidney stones supposedly the acid in a lemon helps your body not to produce kidney stones which I thought was very interesting. It actually helps to clean your system out from the acid is what I was told by a urologist. Ive been trying to stay away from the sweet tea and not eating out as much either.

My other love Im sure many remember way back but I love the oats and chocolate bars from Fiber one and I found a large 20 ct pack of them at Sams for a great deal so I stocked up on them because they are my quick breakfast when I dont have time to really do one and it still gives me fiber. Probably not the 100% healthies thing but its much better then nothing.

My other struggle is water and getting back into the groove of working out again. Water I used to be sooo good at but since I kind of went downhill on that one its been one of those things that Im working on. Working out has been a toughie but I think me and hubby are going to go walk on the track at our new place tonight.

Monday, September 10, 2007

Monday, Monday...

Well Im back and Im ready to attack this fat thing and get rid of it forever so here I am blogging away my food for the day which is actually pretty good I must add....

Breakfast: Fiber One oats and chocolate, water
Lunch: grilled chicken with BBQ sauce, peas, roll, lemonade
Dinner: salad (lettuce, 6 slices of turkey, wheat croutons, lite honey mustard, bacon bits), water
Snack: cinnamon sugar multigrain cakes (9), 100 calorie chocolate hostess, crispy green freeze dried pineapple fruit, water

So for not doing so hot I think I did pretty well today. My new loves and recommendations:
1) Quaker Cinnamon Sugar mini Multigrain cakes: Amazing...for 9 cakes its only are you ready for this?? 60 calories and 1 g of fat..you cant beat that anywhere....delicious!

2) Ken's Steakhouse Lite Honey Mustard: I love honey mustard but honestly am not a fan at all of light and FF dressings, but the Ken's steakhouse line has made me into a lover of it. For 2 tbsp its 90 calories and 5g of fat which is much, much better then the normal honey mustard for sure. I have never seen it before the other day but if you are a fan of honey mustard its amazing!

3) Crispy Green freeze dried fruits: I found these at a supermarket in another state and tried them and have been hooked since. They are only in very select places but well worth the drive to get them if you can find them. My favorite flavor is pineapple with apple being second. For the entire pouch its only 36 calories and 0g of fat.

I didnt input in today to see how many calories and such but I think Im well in my range for WW today which is a major improvement.

Friday, September 7, 2007

Wow...Wow...

Well Tuesday I did weigh in and was up .8 lbs which after a vacation, eating too much I consider that not too bad at all. I normally seem to gain around oh 3-5 lbs which is bad but hey vacation is vacation and you always want to splurge a little, right??

Well I have had the week from hell with school and by that I mean there has been so much going on that I havent gotten to do much else other then my job. I was so smart to give 5 different tests for 5 classes which wouldnt be so bad if it was just this is the right answer but being a computer teacher Ive had to go into every file and grade every single little thing. I think I learned my lesson the hard way on that for sure. Next time Ill give half on one week, the other on the other week so maybe I can stay sane for sure. Oh and then on top of all that we got the new software Ive been waiting for since the beginning of school (Adobe Design Premium for any curious..) and its taking forever and ever to install so yeah my week has been pretty busy. On top of all that my poor little pup got really sick and has thrown up everywhere and Ive had to take care of her and I think she is back to good now thank goodness! But I have to state the really good news of the week.....

I weighed in this morning and LOST...yes LOST...1.8 lbs bringing me back to my all time lowest Ive been at which is 170.6 Im so happy about that, now I can start working on getting it really off and thats just the motivation I needed it really made my day after having a heck of a week. I have been doing better on foods, trying to get back into working out (which hasnt been a ton this week).

Next week will be much better (no tests that will be given until the following week) and the software is all installed so Ill have a bit more free time for sure.

So to say the least I was very happy and so glad Im back into the low 170's almost in the 160's Ive got to prove to myself that I can get there by next week no excuses! Its only .7 lbs and I know I can do it!!

Oh and I changed my ticker..it has a little weight as my icon, so cute and at the end is the little treasure as I lose the weight Im getting closer to my treasure.

For the other news, me and hubby have decided that for our 5 year anniversary (May 24, 2008) which is 8 mths away we are going to be going to Hawaii..woo hoo! so Ive got to work really hard to make sure Im down to my goal weight by then I cant wait so ive got something to work at as well!

Weight Gain....

Sorry I havent made it back any sooner but I weighed in on Friday and was up .6 lbs to 172.4. I dont think I was quite great or as good as I had said I was going to be so Ill blame it on that + AF started Thursday night of all times which I always seem to gain during that time especially if its the night before.

We did have a great time on the beach this weekend I got a little burnt but not too awfully bad. I did feel much better in a bathing suit but I really need to tighten down and get serious because I really havent done that quite yet. I did splurge a little but it wasnt near as bad as Ive done some trips thats for sure. I think with being out in the sun + walking on the beach and such helped as well. Ive been playing yo-yo here and there and have kind of stayed around the same, gained a little but nothing I cant get off in a week if I work really hard. So my goal is to start back losing 1 lb per week like I once had said and really write down everything I eat and watch it.

I think Ill not weigh in officially but weigh in for my own curiosity tomorrow morning to see how bad/good it is and go from there.

Tuesday, August 28, 2007

This is going to be a work in progress but Im going to type all this out and at least get it down and hopefully it will get a bit better:)

Breakfast: plain bagel with light strawberry cream cheese
Lunch (bad, bad): baked chicken nuggets, rice with brown gravy, roll, apple roll twisty thing, lemonade, peas
Dinner: fajitas (grilled chicken meat with seasoning), onions, bell pepper, salsa, light sour cream, fajita shell, water
Exercise: none (unless you count walking around the school from class, cafeteria, etc.)

Lunch was such a big mistake today...the cafeteria does bake not fry most everything which is a big plus but they had these cinnamon apple rolls which everyone had been talking about so dumb me decides to try one..big mistake they were soooo good and me saying Oh Ill try a bite ended up eating the whole thing...bad bad.

So here is my first day posting Im determined to keep up with this, get back on a regular routine and keep this thing updated...

Long Lost...

Well a quick update on life, weight loss and all the other things inbetween.

I weighed in on Friday and have lost 1.1 lbs bringing me down to 171.8 so Im pretty proud of myself for that one! Its been a tough few weeks I think more so with figuring out all the ropes, roles, etc but Im getting there slowly but surely.

For the other part..Ive been eating in the cafeteria at school since we cant leave which isnt so bad except a few days when they have things that I dont care for but they usually have decent things to choose from. So the question is what do you do when you have no clue on the nutrition part? They post nothing about nutrition for any items which honestly I wish I knew. They usually have a meat, side item and veggie which has been pretty decent most days but still in the back of my head Im wondering so how many calories is this really? They do have a salad bar most days and for pretty much anything you want its $2.00 and includes a drink for teachers only, students are about twice as much so you really cant beat it.

I really am going to try to get back to my daily posts because it really does help for sure and I know I really havent gained much over the past few months but I havent lost any either. The lowest I ever got down to was 170.6 and I was at 171.8 on Friday so not bad at all as much stuff as Ive been through/ate but things are getting back to a more normal tone now and I really have a ton of time in the afternoons which is wonderful! I get off at 3:10 and go in at 7:45 and I have two periods off on top of that so maybe Ill start posting either during my off periods or when I get home so early, well see. I also am trying to get back into a normal exercise routine as well which hubby is helping with as well which I think helped me last week for sure. Its also starting to cool down a bit as well, instead of being 110, its only about 95 + humidity..haha

Also, we are heading to the beach this weekend for Labor Day weekend and I cant wait with all of my family and we got a condo on the beach..ahhh relaxation here I come!! So this week Im trying to be super, duper good with all choices so I can at least tone some..even if its a little.

I hope things are going well for everyone I need to come drop by soon!

Oh and I finally get to change my ticker, its been in a standstill

Friday, August 17, 2007

One week post?!

Well it seems as though once a week has turned into a pattern and all I can seem to find time to get here, maybe once I get this teacher thing down pat Ill have more fun time to do things like this but for now Ive been doing a ton of planning, researching and all that fun jazz that comes along with teaching.

Well for my WI today I gained but only .1 lb so I find that little more like a maintain then a gain.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Friday, August 10, 2007

Weight Loss....

Well I weighed in this morning and lost 1.2 lbs from last week bringing me to 172.8. Im not really sure what I did but hey Ill take it anytime. Weird part about it was I didnt exercise once last week. Its been so unbelievably hot that sitting outside for one second is horrible in this Mississippi heat. Maybe it will cool down sometime so I can start back working out but I know I need to do it anyway even if its in the fitness center.

For any of those curious my first day as a teacher went well I had one problem class but I took care of them by having to get a little mean but they listened to me after that..haha!

Have a great weekend!

Thursday, August 9, 2007

Where did I disappear to?!

Yes, yes Ive gotten several emails asking me where have I been and did I disappear or something. Well no I really still am alive. The diet is well just some diet and I havent been doing 100% great, but not horrible either. Ive had very few moments to exercise at all lately and yes yes my clothes they need some exercising time.

Ive been busy with being a teacher and getting ready for school which the first day is tomorrow and hopefully once I figure out my schedule and such things will be better but its a little tough with getting things ready (schedules, classrooms, etc) but I know I will enjoy it for sure.

Thank you to all of you who have been pestering me to post (yes, yes Im bad...) and Ill try to keep more posted and maybe actually even post a menu by Monday (I really do need to get back into the habit of it.

I did go this past weekend (tax free weekend in many southern states) and get a ton of clothes which I fit into a size 10 and a medium shirt I really dont know how long its been since I could say that....maybe 11th grade? Its a foreign concept for sure but I loved every minute of it!

I hope everyone is doing well I promise I will try to check in sometime soon with those of you who have blogs!

For anyone curious last week I had a 2 lb gain which put me up to 174 so maybe tomorrow I will have a loss and get some of that 2 lbs off!

Friday, July 27, 2007

Another Loss...WOO HOO!

Well I didnt post my menu from yesterday but it was much, much better. I was very proud of sticking to things and lowering my pts and my calories so its a work in progress but Ill get there:)

For my weigh-in this morning I lost .6 lbs. Not a huge loss but at this point any loss is wonderful! That brings me to 172.0 so Im getting closer to that 160 range..WOO HOO!

Food Recommendations: This week I tried out some 90/10 meat which at first I was thinking oh this is going to taste horrible but maybe it wont be too bad. Well I was very surprised that it actually tasted just like the regular ole meat with a lot less fat. We have had several things with it and now I dont feel near as guilty. I know my mom had bought some ground turkey and this meat was actually less fattening then the ground turkey. So if your another meat fan try the 90/10 and you wont be disappointed!

For the questions from the other day...
*we are getting pretty settled in we still have some boxes but they are getting less and less thank goodness
*the kitchen stuff is all put up I made sure that it was done first thats for sure.
*sweet tea is pretty much regular tea put with a bunch of sugar its one of those very southern things that I love but its not the best. Ive tried to switch over to splenda a little or water so its getting there.

A Real Menu...

Wow I was looking back to see how long its really been since I posted a full days menu. Well it was June 14...thats almost 1.5 mths ago. Yikes I need to get better about it. So with drum rolls here is the menu for the day. Not the best but Im getting there slowly but surely. Im way over pts today but Im getting there in time. I need to be at around 24 pts and well Im at 35 and Im a little over in calorie range as well so not horrible for a real true day back but could have done better.

Breakfast: Fiber One oats & chocolate, Simply Lemonade (4 oz.)
Lunch: Golden Corral 1/2 piece of meatloaf with gravy, mashed potatoes with gravy (one spoonful), bourbon chicken with rice, carrots, 1 piece of pepperoni pizza, kiwi, chiptole quesdilla (.25), kiwi, sweet tea (one glass)
Dinner: tilapia (FF butter, season salt), salad (lettuce, bacon bits, wheat croutons, ranch dressing), water
Snack: 100 calorie fudge stripe cookies, banana
Water: 32 oz.
Exercise: 30 minute walk, 30 minute water volleyball, 15 minute swimming laps
Total Calories: 1760
WW Pts: 39.4 pts - 4 EX Pts = 35.4 pts

Not sure how many get the hungry girl emails but if you did you saw a few weeks ago they had some products and had a free full version trial offer (you do have to pay for shipping which is $5.95 but still not bad) so I just put in my order for one and if you would like to order as well here is a link. I ordered the FRS Orange chews and Ill let you know how they are when I get them:
http://secure.frsplus.com/NewSunServer/stores/1/HG-sample.aspx

Tuesday....

Well yesterday I ended up being out all day and well sitting down at the computer was the last thing from my mind I really wanted to do. Relaxing sounded so much better.

I kept a mental track of what I ate and Ill be honest that I ate way too much sugar for sure. Sweet tea was on the menu for lunch and dinner and well buffet ended up in there as well but I kept my touch of saying one plate thats all and getting one veggie in there as well. I could have done worst, I could have done better.

I did end up going for a walk yesterday and it was absolutely wonderful outside which I cant say that too much for Mississippi heat its excrutating for sure.

Back to the Grind

Well first day back and it felt pretty good. I did pretty well and the only bad thing I really had was sweet tea from McD's but ate pretty healthy at McDonalds so I wont penalize myself too hard. Ill try to get back to putting everything in by tomorrow and post it daily again but today has been a busy day just tried to focus on getting things together today.

This weekend and today we have been at the pool everyday playing water volleyball for anywhere from 1-2 hrs a night its so fun and really works more than you think it does. Ive been working muscles I never knew existed because Ive been pretty S-O-R-E..haha!

Oh and I made my first homecooked meal in a longgggg time (maybe 2 or 3 MONTHS!) Sunday night and boy it was wonderful Im not sure if it was just one of those I havent eaten in in so long or what but it was great.

Looking forward to getting back on track and thanks girls for the support!

Friday, July 20, 2007

WOW....

Wow is quite an understatement for this week's weigh in. We have been going through a ton moving, getting settled and all and well I was quite shocked by the result this morning. I thought maybe I maintained and possibly had a small loss but nothing over .5 lb. Well to say I was shocked was an understatement.

I weighed in this morning at 172.6 with a 2.7 lb loss....WOO HOO!!

I did eat a bit better this week, not 100% better but better then the past few weeks. We are finally moved into our new place but the boxes are still here (why cant I just push a magic button and they could all be in their place...haha!) but hopefully by Monday or such Ill be back to normal and the fitness center and pool are great, cant wait to give them a try and get back into my groove. I dont think you really know how much you miss eating at home and a home cooked meal until you dont have one for a while.

So here is to next week another loss and hopefully get back down to where I started before all this move. The lowest I got down to was 170.8.

Thanks for all of your continued support and your motivation through it all it really means a lot.

Rough Week

Well Friday I did weigh in and I was almost 110% sure I would have a gain. We had been packing, been on vacation and well it just wasnt my week thats for sure for eating wise. That to say, I got in 9 hrs of working out for the week so I had more then enough workouts or I think my gain would have been bigger thats for sure. The result:
172.9-last week
175.3-this week
Gain of 2.4 lbs

Then to top off an already tiring week, we get down to move in and we are having problem after problem and it will be probably Tuesday before we move in. So we drove 6+ hours to get here with a house full of furniture and we couldnt move in. Oh yes they will be paying for the moving truck thats for sure since we had to have it back Monday. Im ready to be in our place and settled but looks like that wlll be a few more days.

We did have a good vacation and ate too much but I know one of these days Ill get back to my good self but its been really, really tough thats for sure.

Is the scale really right?

The question of the day is...did the scale lie to me or is it really telling me the truth?

I weighed in this morning and LOST...yes you did see that correct...LOST .2 lbs. As small of a loss as that is Ill take it and run with it! I didnt get as much exercise in this week but I do feel like I did better with food so guess its paid off!

Ill be gone all next week moving so I probably wont be checking in if at all unless we get internet access.

Happy 4th of July...

Hope everyone is enjoying the 4th of July!

Just thought I would post a quick update...

Things are going ok, nothing too bad just ready to be out, moved and all that stuff for sure. We will be gone this Friday until the following Saturday so it will be quite a hectic week but I know I can do it, just dont over indulge myself!

Tomorrow night we are going out with some friends we havent seen in a while at a really, really good Italian place...ahh can we sense danger or what?! I love this place and havent been in a while either so hopefully I can eat a little salad so I wont be very hungry for the main course...haha!

Ill be back for sure on Friday to see how much of a gain or loss I have this week (Im hoping for even a tiny loss!!)

Weigh-In

Well I weighed in on Friday and had a .3 gain. I know I can get it off but its still a bit frustrating. I cant wait to get back into a normal routine, food I will eat and all that good jazz. We will actually be out on Friday but the next week we will be packing from our old home so we pretty much have a week of getting things packed up and all and we are going to Chicago in that mix as well, should be an interesting week with too much to do..haha!

A week hiatus....

Well its been almost a week and thought I would do a quick update...

We were in Atlanta for a few days and well I cant say it was the worst but it was far from the best. I could have done much better but that 2 lb gain kept playing over and over in my mind the "oh who cares I already gained 2 lbs what difference does it make" majorly wrong attitude and I know that.

Well then we have been living with family for the past 2 mths and the end cant come soon enough thats for sure. It seems as though its the choice of eating out or eating crap and its been a majorly difficult road. I buy good stuff it gets eaten so its a lose, lose situation. We are going back to our house (its finally sold!!) the week of July 9-13, packing up all and we will move into our new place on July 14 I cant wait to be back to my normal routine instead of dealing with someone else's routine thats for sure.

So that being said Im trying to take it one day at a time, eat as healthy as possible and try to at least maintain maybe, its tough, tough but I need to stick with it. I can see the road ahead and its getting shorter and shorter!!

Hope everyone is doing well, things are kind of tough for here but hopefully after July 14 they will start looking up again!!

Disappointing Weigh-In

Well I guess it was about time for me to have a bad weigh-in. This week has been 1000% tough to balance everything out I must admit and by the end of the week tracking just wasnt an option because I was trying to fit in the things that I had to do and well tracking wasnt one of those priorities. The last few days Ive earned my gain for the week and Im fully aware of that. I didnt track (even though I said I would) and well they had so many good things at VBS and well those things brought me down for sure how can you resist so many ooey gooey good stuff knowing it wont be around for long?! Could I have resisted it....umm maybe some of it but things like FREE chick-fil-a breakfast, all the cakes, muffins, dips you could imagine. Now some things I did pass on but Ill be quite honest I didnt too hot by the end of the week. Stress got to me and took full advantage of me. I know I can do better, ive beat myself up all day today over it but know its a few days and I can get right back on track.

So thats my pity party for the day. I know Sunday-Tuesday we will be out of town and probably have no internet connection, we will be eating out for every meal so hopefully I can do well and not go overboard.

We will be moving mid-July (July 14 to be exact) and finally getting into OUR normal routine instead of doing things with my parents and eating at their 9 pm schedule which is killing me. So hopefully that will help out as well, its so tough being on someone else's schedule.

So the real result of this week's weigh in...a GAIN of 2 lbs.....I didnt think I had ate that much but who knows I didnt track, I did bad and full admit that....

Alive and Kicking

Just wanted to drop a quick note Im still alive but this week and next week will be tough weeks for sure. This week Im teaching VBS (vacation bible school) and its been quite a hectic week with all the planning, getting organized and keeping my sanity with a bunch of 4th graders but Im still alive for now.

For WL-Im tracking things still in http://www.sparkpeople.com/ or on paper so Im not giving that up just dont have a ton of time to post each day.

Next week by the end of the week will hopefully be better. This weekend through Tuesday I will be out of town with my new job so hopefully all will go well with that trip (its a lot of training and meetings).

So to say the least hopefully after Tuesday Ill be back to posting but time is very scarce for now:) Ill try to check in with everyone when I get a free moment though (which isnt much for now). If you have anything Ive missed out on feel free to post it here:)

Weigh In...MAJOR success!!

Well I weighed in this morning thinking oh it will be 1-2 lbs and 2 was really hoping because I had such a big loss last week. Well what did I have 2.5 lb LOSS I couldnt believe it I thought the scale was lieing to me so I get on again and it tells me the same thing so maybe my eyes and the scale arent deceiving me. I couldnt believe it....wow that means Im now down to 170.8 and less than 1 lb away from the 160's. The 160's that I didnt think I would ever see in a million years again and here I am less than 1 lb away....WOW...WOW

So Ive now lost 36.7 lbs and I have 25.8 lbs to go to reach my 62.5 lb goal of 145 lbs. Im well over half way there and cant wait to see my goal come!!!

Thank you girls for all your support you dont know how much it means to me!!

Thursday Food

Well today was one of those I havent been eating enough so let me get some fried food to make sure I get it and did just that. Normally I would never eat it but today since I have yet to meet my WW pts all week I said mine as well go with someone so I know I can meet those pts and did just that. I know I went over a little but almost felt that since I ate 10 pts under yesterday and under for the week my body was trying to tell me "eat some food baby..haha" After eating it though I must admit it made me feel like total crap and say to myself "why did I eat this again" you can eat much more healthy options than this crap so it was more like a beat yourself over the head saying "I cant believe you really ate that...shame on you"

My limit on fried food is one time during the week and maybe one time during the weekend it gives me my "I dont feel like Im on a diet and can still eat good food" and thats what today was.

Oh and I tried those WW Giant Cookies and cream bar and well I must admit at first I was like oh this is going to taste horrible dont even buy them how good can it be for 2 pts seriously? Well I must admit those things are really good + they actually have fiber in it so for 2 pts you cant beat them!

Im ready for WI tomorrow or for some I guess its in a few hrs today time so Im hoping for a 1-2 lb loss hopefully well see how nice the scales are to me...haha!

Wednesday Food

Day 3 this week and I have yet to meet my WW pts which I found out beforehand it was 26 pts when I started and Ive now dropped down to 24 pts according to the new plan so Ill stick with that for now even though if I went with the original it would be 22 pts so as long as I stay in that range Ill be fine.

I really need to start eating breakfast that would probably help up my count but I eat good food, havent really snacked much and well its a done deal. I dont feel hungry so Im kind of to the point now do I need to force food down my face to make sure I get it in or what? I may change up week to week and some weeks eat my pts, other weeks not so well see how it goes and give it a test run. I know I shouldnt be weighing daily but weighed today and saw this 171.7 number...I sure havent seent that in a LONGGG time I seriously cant even remember. The great thing about it is Im almost in the 160's I cant believe it I never thought I would ever see that number again...wow such a major milestone to even get close and then to let that 160 # be a past afterthought I cant wait!!

Another new thing was to get Hamburger Helper cheeseburger macaroni add ground turkey instead of ground meat (Im sure some do this anyway) but to add peas and to put the rotel tomatoes and peppers in it and it added a good little kick to it and wasnt so boring and you got your veggies too!
***************
Breakfast: nada (didnt wake up in time)
Lunch: Taco Bell spicy chicken soft taco, cinnamon twists, water
Dinner: cheeseburger helper with peas and rotel tomatoes, 1 piece of white bread with FF butter spray, water
Snack: Cheerios Oat Cluster Crunch with 1% milk

Exercise: 60 minute walk

WW Pts: 18.9 pts - 4 EX Pts = 14.9 pts

Clothes, and challenges

Yeah what a title for the day, right? well it pretty much sums up my day perfectly.

Clothes: who doesnt use clothes for motivation? well my clothes of the day is fitness clothes. Im not sure what it is about fitness clothes but it motivates me beyond belief to put them on its almost like a spark of "I can do this...dont give up" motivation...anyone else like this or am I the only one?? Now that Im losing weight I love them even more because it shows my body instead of all my fat (thats getting less and less by the day!!). I used to absolutely hate them I think because it shows every little mark, fat, etc in your body but its just more fuel so that they look even better on me oh and the postive thing is they are so comfy (that is if you find the right type they have some that arent as comfortable as others)

Challenges: My first challenge was I told myself I was drinking 8 glasses (64 oz) of water and so help me I was doing it and no one was stopping me whether I had to stay up until 11:59 pm I was doing it. well do you know what?? I met that record + more and wound up with 82.7 oz of water for the day...wow I couldnt believe it when I tallied it all up...met challenge 1...
Next challenge....my mom fixed a huge thing of macaroni and cheese...now before this was one of my favorites I ate it all the time and ate quite a bit at that....I never even thought twice of having one bite. All that kept running through my mind was do you really want that fat and garbage...is it really going to do anything for you....so to say the least I really cant believe I tricked my mind its like it doesnt even want the fat food and dont ask me how I did it because I still havent quite figured that one out yet but its a great feeling.

So to say the least I had a pretty good day...just not eating enough or something I guess I need to work on getting my food up. I input it about twice a day and think I ate more then when I put it in and am like I only ate that much I need to eat some more....

My favorite items (which Im starting to find quite a bit lately that I thought I would never touch) were chicken corn dogs...has anyone tried these they are wonderful and in my opinion a little better or maybe that was putting them in the oven but they were delicious! Even hubby commented how good they were. Then the other thing is raspberries...I always said no thanks to these thinking they would be gross but Ive come to the conclusion these are delicious!!

So onto the menu for the day....

1,000 and counting

Well the first hit mark has been hit...1,021 visitors in less than 2 mths...wow!! I never dreamed I could get that many looks so I guess I must have something interesting everyone is checking in on me so thanks;)

Today was another pretty good day, a little low in calories but not too horrible. Also, I never really thought about things like this but the other day I went to check my blood pressure (high blood pressure runs on my dad and mom's side) and it had gone down. I asked my mom about it and she stated it was too low so anyone know?? It was 108/72 she said I may need to take some iron to help up it a little so well see any takers would be greatly appreciated it. Oh and my normal BP was around 120-125 before so I guess losing weight does lower that as well...interesting....

My mom made some burgers with ground turkey which I had never had since I had been I guess what you called the "oh its not going to taste good syndrome" but she added some rub & A-1 and they were devine. Hubby even commented how good they were then I told him they were turkey and he was shocked so see add some good seasonings and you can fool anyone...haha! Also, I havent been a huge, huge fan of wheat buns but have found that sara lee makes some fabulous ones so try them out if you are trying to get into the wheat crave....

Oh and for any of those that dont know what sweet tea...its a VERY southern thing that you will only find served in the south that Im aware of. Pretty much its regular brewed tea with sugar added and usually lots of it...delicious..but oh so not calorie free....haha!

Thursday Food

Well today was a pretty good day, another healthy day even ate breakfast, veggies and all:)

Today was just one of those Im eating but just didnt eat a ton. Oh and my new love of the evening is lime & chili almonds (yes its one almond) and OMG they are delicious! I know almonds and such are good to have just not overdo it but wow if you want to try a new kind try these they are amazing with the flavor!!

My new recipe love of the week is brocolli with shells...
you cook a bag of brocolli until tender,
cook shells (or any other type of pasta will work),
after both are done stir them together add a little bit of olive oil so it doesnt stick...
add parmesan cheese (lighter option of cheese)
add a dash of salt or some type of seasoning because trust me it wont taste very well if not

wah la you have a good healthy meal that has your veggies, pasta, good fat. Its not very difficult at all and you will have leftovers for a few days..haha!

This weekend will be tough I know I wont even try to think for a moment it wont be but we are going to the baseball game (any college baseball fans out there??) the team me and hubby graduated from is in the super regional (MSU-Mississippi State) so we will be out there rooting for our bulldogs in the 90+ humidity weather with friends and all so should be fun. We will also be seeing family and all with lots of good eating but that also being said Ill be sweating my butt off as well as getting in tons and tons of walking so hope that kind of balances out but my plan is to eat stuff but keep portions small, its worked so far just need to remember that. Im planning on taking something to write my stuff down since Ill have no computer so I can keep an eye on what I eat.

Hope you girls have a fabulous weekend and Ill be back tomorrow for sure to post my weigh in:)

Wednesday Food

Well things have gotten pretty busy around here but I made a committment Im tracking everyday and I cant let anything come between no matter how late I stay up so here is my menu and let me go ahead and answer a few questions since there was so many Ill go ahead and answer them in this post:
1)I found the 2% pepperjack cheese at Wal-Mart of all places
2)Hoagie roll is kind of like a sub sandwich, its very good. Here is a picture of it if your curious what it looks like..Hoagie picture
3)Why dont I eat Breakfast? I havent been waking up until lunch time or way past breakfast time and felt it was better to just go ahead and eat an early lunch. Of course beforehand I had a major issue with eating breakfast as it never happened at all so its growing on me either way, I never have been a big breakfast person at all.
4)Lack of Fruits/veggies? Growing thing that Im working on my goal for now is 1 /day which before starting to lose weight if I ate one a week I was doing good so it’s a work in progress for sure. I know I need to eat more:)
5) What do I put on Sandwiches? I love using sub bread either a roll, bun..something different then your regular loaf bread, some good meat (I love Cajun meat..turkey, chicken, roast beef, etc.) and melt with some 2% pepperjack cheese…yum! You can add some dressings, dips, sauces but if I melt the cheese I find it gives it a good flavor. Also the big key is put it and toast it in the oven it makes it soooo much better for sure. Its almost like getting a good restaurant style sandwich at home!!

Exercise has been going pretty well its been so hot and Ive really worked up a sweat just from stepping outside it seems like but it makes you feel like a million bucks for sure. Water Ive been really well and going over what I wanted to so Im proud of myself in that aspect for sure.

I know for the day I was a little low on calories and such I tried to make time to eat some but yeah it was busy. Its better than throwing things out and eating too much thats for sure:)

This weekend we are heading out of town Friday morning so hopefully I can stay on track then as well. There will be tons of good food, lots of baseball, friends, family and so many temptations just need to limit myself for sure!

Oh and thanks girls for stopping by I went to look at the stats and Ive had 48 people come by in 2 days..wow! So total count is at 929 visitors! It makes me feel as there is more than just one person out there reading along!

Things are getting easier to turn down and those bad fattening things are looking worst and worst that I dont want to eat.

Hope everyone had a great day!

What a Great Day

I must say first and foremost...thank you to so many who stopped by, emailed me and made me feel like a million bucks I really couldnt do it without you girls...you are amazing and just getting all the comments wow it has just made my day I cant thank you enough!! Second of all this is going to be a long post so sit back, grab a bag of low fat popcorn and enjoy the journey..haha!

Also, I went to see my tracker to see how many people have visited this blog and was amazed I really didnt realize that many people read this blog. In LESS than 2 mths I have had 881 visitors...WOW! Thank you girls for reading along it makes me feel pretty special to know someone is reading this thing and Im not talking to the air..haha!

Today I had lunch with my cousin, her hubby and my grandad it was such a special moment for us all as I havent seen my cousin in about 10 years probably. She is such a wonderful woman and she is actually moving closer and hopefully Ill get to see her quite a bit now Im quite excited about it! Anyway to make a long story short, she is a major, major fitness guru she is such an inspiration for sure as she is now halfway through her pregnancy and is so tiny (about 50 lbs less than me and 4 mths preg!). Before she ran she said a good 6-7 miles a day + about 500 situps a day. Now cant we all do this in one day..haha! She majored in some type of fitness (cant remember exactly) and is 3 credits shy of her masters so to say the least I will be getting lots of good information from her! She was such an inspiration to be around though because she ate so well and it made me come to the realization I can do this and it was just what I needed to get back on track!!

I had so many temptations today it was unreal it was almost like the test of are you really going to make it!

Lets see...the first temptation was the most amazing buffet....good food all around I could have really completed some damage but I got one plate (didnt even fill it totally up!!) and refused to get a second plate. I got some good stuff (kept the portion size small) and got some veggies as well and one small thing of dessert. Second temptation was it was my grandmothers birthday...well I had just eaten lunch with my cousin so I told myself I wasnt eating anything else all I needed was water..thats all and I did just that. Went sat in socialized and drank a few glasses of water. So like that wasnt enough then I get tested with brownies...now how can anyone really resist a browie?? well I did it and was so proud of myself to say the least. So yes I had way too many temptations and felt like I did extremely well with them!!

A few other things since its been a while since I did any recommendations...
1) Mystic Strawberry Smoothie (bought at Sams): this stuff really is amazing and makes the most wonderful smoothies and its only 160 calories and for any of you smoothie lovers you realize this is a steal for only 160 calories as most of them have a ton of calories so stop by your nearest sams and pick you up a bottle of it.
2) Kraft 2% Pepperjack cheese: for all you cheese lovers go pick you up a package of this stuff and you will be pleasantly surprised. Its 1.4 pts (50 calories) and has amazing taste! I always loved the american one but this one beats it by a stick.
3) Crispy Fruit: Has anyone else tried this stuff? check it out at http://crispygreen.com/ I tried these while in FL at a local place and these were amazing. The only problem they dont sell them here and so if I want another bag I will have to be shipping me some and Im really thinking about it. I at first thought these would be gross but thought I would try them out for only 35 calories and wow just think of these wonderful treats that are fruit sealed in a bag and thats what you get. They come in all flavors of fruit. They do have some locations that you can get them at grocery stores but if you dont have a store nearby you may just want to get them shipped they are really that good!!
4) Lipton Herbal Cinnamon Apple Tea: if you are a drinker of hot tea, try this out it really has an amazing taste
5) Low-fat chocolate chip meringue cookies: if you have a Kroger nearby go pick you up a bundle of these and you wont be let down. These have an amazing taste and for 12 of them they are 130 calories and 2.5 pts so not too bad.

Someone also asked my ways to how I have succeeded and Ill just do the basic and if anyone wants a more detailed look at it, let me know:
1) portion, portion, portion: the absolute most important key to any WL is portion I cant emphasize it enough. Without portion control its almost impossible or it will only make it that harder to lose weight. Instead of eating those 2 cookies, eat one you still get that same enjoyment. Also when I go out to a restaurant I cut my meal in half before I start I dont even let myself get tempted for that other portion of it. It has worked so well and who really needs that huge, gigantic portion a restaurant gives you
2) Believing in myself: Ive always wanted to lose weight but I dont think I ever put enough faith in myself to do it. I finally had major goals in mind why I wanted to (when I get PG I didnt want to be overweight and on bedrest) and not only did I believe in myself but my wonderful hubby believed in me as well.
3) getting the junk out: you know all those tempting foods that are lingering over your head in your cabinet that you are just dying to have??? Get them out so you arent tempted to eat them. Refill with healthy foods and low calorie foods. If anyone wants some staples of what I keep feel free to ask and Ill post them:)

Hope this is helpful these have been the most beneficial things that have helped me along.

So if this hasnt already been a long enough novel Ill now post my menu. I guess I just havent written much lately and had too much to talk about:)
